Removing implants     Removal of Silicone Implants

Subsequent removal and replacement of the implants can be one of the most disturbing parts of getting silicone implants.  But for sure, the procedure has to be done very carefully to avoid further complications. More depends on the patient having taken sufficient measures prior to the implant. Proper guidance from the surgeon, as to the type, size and quality of the product could save the patient the trouble of removal and replacement of the implants. Precisely because of this reason, women are strongly advised not to go for the implants unless they have taken proper advice from the concerned surgeon. Therefore, before you move for the operation, approach the surgeon and ask for advice and tips; if at all you are fit only then you may resort to implants. At times, it may happen that you are not fully aware or well, and due to lack of information, you may not able to cope with the stipulated requirements related to post operation needs.

If you suffer from any adverse health condition, you cannot suspect your silicone implants for the condition without proper investigations. There is likelihood of other factors like exposure to other silicone sources being responsible. So far, no evidence has been produced to pinpoint adverse health conditions on silicone-gel implants. Women with implants are as likely to fall ill as woman with no implants. In addition to the above facts, in case, you develop capsular contracture, you must take precautions and approach the surgeon, so that you do not get it further complicated. This basically takes place, when the capsule that usually forms around the implant tightens and squeezes the implants. It has been found that it may happen to both the implants, or may be one. The lasting of the implants depends more likely on the kind of the handling it has received from the surgeon or the kind of advice the patient had taken before the implants were done. Rupturing or for that matter, deflation can take place only in case of the implants not being properly positioned or operated upon. Therefore, it is very pertinent that you approach the surgeon for both pre and post surgery to avoid any of the mentioned complexities. This should be done to maintain the previous status of the patients.

The common three reasons for removal of silicone implants are implant rupture, capsular contracture, and change in shape or size. The other reasons for removal and replacements of implants can be attributed to how the recipient views her implants. She may like the implants to be bigger or smaller. Some may not like the way their implanted s appear. They may think that their s are either too low or too high, or they appear to be fake and not natural.

Silicone implants have a life span of about eight to ten years. However, they may leak before time. On leakage, you may notice a change in the size or shape. Saline implants normally leak, resulting in softness and size reduction. On the other hand, leakage of the silicone-gel is not easily noticeable as the leakage is self-contained. Women can tell it from a slight change in the shape of the . Rippling can occur in both saline and silicone-gel implants. If you notice that the implants have turned harder, it can be due to capsular contracture. Your may change shape, get harder, cause discomfort and even pain.

You may be given general anesthesia for the silicone implant removal surgery. The surgeon will make an incision around the areola or the under the fold. The implant is removed after cutting through the capsule. Silicone filled implants are checked for damage and then removed. In case the implant is filled with saline, the surgeon may deflate the implant before removing it. The surgeon may decide on two things; will the removal of only the implants suffice or does the capsule too need removal. The removal of only the implants is accompanied by little pain. However, the degree of pain is higher when the capsule too is removed along with the implants. If you do not replace the implants after removal, asymmetry may be noticed. You may have to undergo additional surgery to reshape your s after removal of the implants. In some cases, there may be no need for additional surgery after implant removal.

Removal and replacement of silicone implants can mean undergoing surgery again. Getting exposed to surgery may not seem a pleasant experience for some women. Besides, you may have to bear the cost of operation once again, and have to go through the recuperative process yet again. To avoid undergoing the experience of facing a possible surgery once again, it will do you good if you buy an implant that suits you the most. The quality of the implants also plays an important role in this regard. There is no point hurrying your decision to have an implant. A detailed discussion with your surgeon on the kind of implants you may need will be handy. It will be in your favor not to compromise on quality of the implants.  Saving a few dollars may ultimately cost you many more. Make sure that the implants will suit you and your after the implants do not look out of place in comparison to your body type. Women, who go for augmentation, may be particularly careful, as very big s on a lean body do not look natural and may seem rather odd. If you are not satisfied, you may have to undergo the surgery again.
